हल्दी के लिए 30 से 35 डिग्री से.मी. अंकुरण के समय, 25 से 30 डिग्री से.मी. कल्ले निकलने 20 से 30 डिग्री से.मी. प्रकंद बनने तथा 18 से 20 डिग्री से.मी. हल्दी की मोटाई हेतु उत्तम है। हल्दी की खेती करने के लिए दोमट, जलोढ़, लैटेराइट मिट्टी, जिसमें जीवांश की मात्रा अधिक हो, वह इसके लिए अति उत्तम है। 5 से.मी. गहरी नाली में 30 से.मी. कतार से कतार तथा 20 से.मी. प्रकंद की दूरी रखकर रोपण करें। हल्दी की फसल में 20-25 हल्की सिंचाई की जरूरत पड़ती हैं। हल्दी की फसल को जीवांश खाद की काफी आवश्यकता रहती है। 25 टन कम्पोस्ट या गोबर की खूब सड़ी हुई खाद प्रति हेक्टर की दर से जमीन में मिला देना चाहिए। हल्दी फसल की खुदाई 7 से 10 माह में की जाती है।
